A student of the Minsk Conservatory, Stepan Bitus began his musical career in 2000 when he joined “Drum Ecstasy“ – a percussion band well known both in Belarus and abroad. The unconventional approach of these artists allowed the young musician to see the world of sound from a new angle, and pull away from a more musically academic approach.
After 7 years spent with these drum virtuosos, Stepan moved to Moscow. Fascinated by dance music, he started to perform as a DJ in clubs around the Russian capital, collaborating with artists and fashion designers, and promoting events, as well. All the while, Stepan continued to develop his artistic style, applying his musical and technical knowledge to various instrumental experiments in his studio.
Upon moving to Vilnius, his project Monsoon Season was born. He had his debut release on Brooklyn-based Deep&Disco Recordings in 2012 with the song “Green On Blue” featuring Miss Bee, a collaboration he then revisited, kicking off 2013 with the single “Too Cold For Love” on Satin Jacket’s Glam Jam Artists label.
Through his both own productions and collaborations with some of the biggest names in the nu disco scene, Stepan has firmly established himself as an up-and-coming producer to watch. The future is actually looking quite bright and sunny for Monsoon Season
